For most patients, the answer to this question is unfortunately no. However, some patients may be covered for toenail care if they meet Medicare's guidelines for coverage. It is easiest to answer this question after you are seen by the doctor, who can give a complete examination and determine if you qualify for toenail care. The same guidelines also apply to the trimming of calluses. For patient's who are at risk for foot complications due to systemic diseases such as diabetes, routine nail and callus care becomes not "routine," but rather a vital part of preventative health care.
